Sean Tully is a painter, writer, photographer, curator, and surfer living and working in Los Angeles, California.
A second-generation surfer with regard to traditional surfing aesthetic, Sean surfed professionally and has been featured in various international publications including Surfer, Foam Symmetry, and Surfer’s Journal. His ocean-related travels have found him in Europe, Central America, South America, Asia, and Australia. Relationships with noted photographers and close proximity to select Californian point breakshave allowed Sean to maintain a casual presence within the surf community.
Sean obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in 2010. His art practice emphasizes an exchange between painting, photography, and writing. The work is emotionally charged contemporary art, engaging influence from various fringe cultures, perceptions of artistic nostalgia and ubiquitous life experiences shared by all. Current paintings reflect a more assertive approach to abstraction with bold color and occasional figurative references from Sean's everyday life.
Sean’s more recent artistic endeavors, have found him curating exhibitions under the pseudonym INNOCNTS and managing noted LA contemporary art gallery, New Image Art.
